FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES

We engage in a variety of fundraising activities every year.

Langcliffe Teas

These are held  once or twice a year in Langcliffe Village Institute from 2 pm to approximately 4:30 pm, normally in May and September.

Choir members volunteer to bake cakes, scones etc and prepare other delicacies such as trifles, and tea, coffee and soft drinks are also available. Choir members then also staff the event on the day and there is usually a tombola or other fun game, with prizes generously donated by the choir.

Thank you to all who have supported us in 2023.

We look forward to treating you to home-made delights and perhaps even music in 2024.

Raffles

We hold a raffle at each concert, with prizes donated by choir members and local businesses. Previous winners have been delighted with luxury hampers, artisan cheeseboards and fine wines!

Come and Sing events

We welcome singers from outside the choir to join us in a glorious day of singing. These events usually take place during the early part of the year, a wonderful antidote to the winter! Past events have led to performances of pieces such as the Armed Man, Opera choruses and Handel's Messiah. For 2024 we did Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

200 club

A subscription of £12 a year is paid for the chance of winning a prize of £20 every other month. The number of entrants is limited to 200 though in practice it’s a lot fewer than that so the chances of winning are pretty good.
