The Langcliffe Singers

Choral Classics in the Yorkshire Dales

Joining the Langcliffe Singers -

Would you like to sing with us?

No auditions necessary - just a love of choral music.

In September the Langcliffe Singers will begin their 30th year of making music and would be delighted to welcome any new members who would like to sing with them.

Musical director Nigel Waugh says - "We are a friendly mixed-voice community choir which currently has some 60 members. We give three concerts a seasons and plans for the 2011/2012 season are already underway. On October 15th 2011, we are planning a Come and Sing Messiah event at Christ Church, Skipton, and we hope that lots of singers from around the area will come along and join us in singing this wonderful work.

In December 2011, we will be performing Britten's St Nicolas and we will be joined for this concert by the Skipton Music Centre choir and players from the Northern Chamber Orchestra. We are looking for any string players who would like to play in this concert alongside the NCO players so if anyone is interested, please contact me on 01729 825807. We are always pleased to welcome new members - we do not hold auditions and previous singing experience, although helpful, is not essential."

We are half way through our summer term now,
but if you would like to join in the future,
we will begin rehearsing for our 2011/2012 season
on Tuesday 6th September 2011 and look forward to seeing you!
The choir practices on Tuesday evenings at St John’s Hall Settle,
rehearsals start at 7.30pm.
